At six years old, young Cydney has turned her love of photography into a small business with the goal of raising money for the Airdrie food bank. In 2012 she partnered with a local artist to sell her photographs on coasters and art tiles and raised $185.
At nine years old Cydney is developing her passion and continuing to search for ways to share her talents and finding purpose in fundraising for local charities. In a few months she has channeled her passion for books and reading into developing talents in hand-crafting leather bookmarks and book charms. She has raised over $70 for her favorite charities including the Airdrie Food Bank and Terry Fox Foundation. Her custom-ordered bookmarks helps others express their own passions.

One of my favorite strategies of the Virtues Project is “Honoring the Spirit”. This is the strategy that helps everyone realize that they have their own unique gifts to share with the world. The best service that a person can provide to humanity is to develop their individual gifts and talents to use to make their world a better place.
Shawnee Hoffman, artist and owner of Artsy Fartsy ‘Faces Body Art & More’ in Airdrie has exemplified the practice of honoring her spirit by combining her passion for face painting and her love of football to create the “Airdrie Zombie Cup”. This is an annual charity “Football” tailgate party/event where people register to get zombie makeup on and play football, while at the same time raising money for the Airdrie Food Bank! This year’s Zombie Cup is taking place at Genesis Place on Saturday July 20th from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. There will be prizes, vendors, special guests, mascots, an after-party and more!
